HP has announced that they will team up with Vidyo® Inc. to offer conference room and desktop endpoints to run on enterprise networks through the HP Halo portfolio. Vidyo, Inc. is a leader in videoconferencing technology. This collaboration will allow clients to experience high-quality video one their current operating infrastructure.
The program will be available through HP and their channel partners later this year.
“Companies need a complete portfolio of endpoint solutions, including video at the desktop, on mobile devices and in conference rooms, so they can collaborate more effectively,” said Rob Scott, vice president and general manager, Halo Telepresence Solutions, HP, in a statement. “Together with Vidyo, we will provide customers with quality desktop and conference room video experiences that run over the internet or wireless networks, are highly reliable and can seamlessly connect to our existing high-end video collaboration offerings.”
The program will incorporate the VidyoConferencing™ line, which includes software-based desktop and room system-based solutions to deliver high-quality, high-definition video. The technology used will optimize and improve the reliability of the end user’s experience, while eliminating the need for a multipoint control unit (MCU). The offerings will comprise an executive desktop solution to run on an HP TouchSmart PC.
“Vidyo and HP will offer a set of solutions that bring together the best aspects in high-end videoconferencing whether at the desktop, in conference rooms or in Halo studios,” said Ofer Shapiro, co-founder and chief executive officer, Vidyo, in a statement. “Vidyo looks forward to partnering with HP to help enterprises achieve new efficiencies in global video collaboration from this software-based architecture.”
