Grifols, the global leaders in plasma protein therapies, announced the acquisition of U.S. based Talecris Biotherapeutics, a global biotherapeutic and biotechnology company $3.4 billion. The acquisition will position Grifols as a global leader in plasma protein therapeutics.

The acquisition will enhance the position of each company within the healthcare field to meet the increasing patient demand and improve cost efficiency across the company’s products in areas from neurology to hematology. Additionally, Grifols will benefit from the strong standing of Talecris in the United States, while Talecris will benefit from Grifols’ global manufacturing capacity.
