San Fran's Outside Lands for music, wine and food

San Francisco's three-day musical festival Outside Lands promotes sustainability, local food and wine
 Outside Lands 2011

It’s a wild, wild life for the Editor of Business Review USA and as a little treat, we’ll be traveling to San Francisco this month to check out hotels, area attractions, delicious dining, lounges, nightclubs, parks, and one amazing three-day musical festival, Outside Lands.

The City by the Bay is always on the top of our list as a getaway idea and we’re jump starting our 11-day vacation with a very memorable musical weekend.

Outside Lands is a celebration of music, food, wine and art held in Golden Gate Park this year August 12-14. We’re excited to check out such musical acts as MGMT, Muse, The Black Keys, Girl Talk, Arcade Fire, Deadmau5, and so much more. Despite the amazing concerts to be had, Outside Lands also incorporates the area’s best eateries and wine makers to the event with its Taste of the Bay Area held inside the park showing off local restaurants and their favorite dishes. We’re especially salivating over sandwiches from American Grilled Cheese Kitchen and Homeroom’s Gilroy Mac with gouda, pecorino and roasted garlic. Local wineries will also be representing their homegrown reds and whites and we absolutely cannot wait to indulge.

In keeping with the city’s sustainable initiatives, Outside Lands presents Eco Lands, which is 100 percent powered by alternative energy. The music event itself has worked throughout the years to raise the bar when it comes to eco-consciousness at major events and has created its own green programs like a solar-powered stage, refillable water bottle stations, compostable utensils, and special perks for bikers and carpoolers.

We’re only days away from Outside Lands 2011 and we’re eager to head up north!
